As your child gets older, it can be harder and harder to either read with them or to get them to keep reading. It can be hard today because of video content, video games, and other video content that keeps them busy and rewards them. Some tips to keep them going is to make sure that you are reading with them as soon as you can. When you make it a bonding experience it’s much easier for them to keep reading.
- Start reading to your child as soon as you can, even as infants.
- Make it a regular thing to read with them and it will help them read in the future.
- After some time, you should have your child pick out the books they want.
“Encourage a love of reading with books that celebrate the pleasures of a good story.”
